<p>The 101st FS is directly assigned at Otis and operates the F-15A/B and a C-26B support. Squadron lineage dates from 1918 although it was not activated with the Massachusetts National Guard until November 1921. The unit was mobilized in November 1940 and flew observation and reconnaissance sorties until July 1946, when inactivated. The unit reformed one month later as the 101st Fighter Squadron at Boston's Logan Airport, initially with the P-47 and later with the F-84B. Unit reverted to the P-51H for Stateside service during the Korean War, with a change to Fighter-Interceptor Squadron status in July 1954 with the F-94A/B. The F-86H was delivered in 1958, the unit becoming a Tactical Fighter Squadron. It was mobilized during the Berlin crisis and was stationed at Phalsbourg AB, France between October 1961 and August 1962. The 102nd TFG was formed in October 1962 as the controlling element of the squadron. F-84Fs were assigned in March 1964, followed by F-100Ds from June 1971. The unit moved to Otis AFB in August 1968 and reverted to an FIS in June 1972 with the F-106A, and then was assigned to the 102nd FIW in July 1976. Conversion to the F-15A commenced in September 1987.
